Treatment Procedure
1. Consultation and Examination: Your journey starts with a free consultation with our experienced doctors, where our expert dentists try to understand you and your needs. It involves the assessment of the dental health, understanding of the patients’ concerns, and decision on whether to recommend a crown or not.
2. Preparation and Impressions: We prepare your tooth by cutting a part of the outer surface to make room for the crown. Subsequently, plaster is applied directly onto the teeth to obtain accurate impressions, which help to create a model of your tooth.
3. Temporary Crown: While we are preparing your permanent crown, we’ll put a temporary crown to cover your tooth.
4. Fitting the Permanent Crown: When your permanent crown is ready, it is carefully examined by us for a proper fit and color and then cemented firmly in place. The end product is a realistic-looking artificial tooth that functions as a normal tooth and beautifies your smile.
Post-Procedure
1. Regular Brushing: We advise you to brush at least twice a day and floss in between. You should pay a lot of attention to the mercurial area; that is the place where the crown overlaps the gum.
2. Avoid Hard Foods: Do not eat hard foods, such as ice, hard candies, and nuts, as this may chip or break the crown.
3. Use a Night Guard: If you are a teeth grinder at night, wear a mouth guard, especially when you have your crown and other teeth.
4. Avoid Staining Foods: Try avoiding foods and liquids that can stain your teeth, such as chocolate, red meat, soy sauce, coffee, and tea. You can also avoid or significantly reduce the frequency of consuming foods that might discolor the crown.
5. Oral Hygiene: Go back to maintaining proper hygiene, but be careful of avoiding abrasion in the crown area.
